FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS & GOOD TO KNOW
What is Fusion Therapeutic Massage?
Fusion Therapeutic Massage is my catch-all for the unique suite of techniques I use to help you reconnect with your power to heal:
Both Myofascial and Craniosacral therapies work with the connective tissues that surround and interconnect every tissue in your body - bones, muscles and tendons, viscera, nerves and central nervous system. Mind-Body Awareness bodywork helps regulate the nervous system. The idea is to give you more options for movement and refine your body-self awareness. This allows for change and healing to come from within. This Fusion treatment is best suited for you if you have specific goals of recovering, healing and assimilating life changes either past or recent (accidents, chronic tension, surgeries, overuse injuries, alignment concerns, etc). |
WHAT IS CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY?
Craniosacral Therapy: Craniosacral Therapy (aka CranioSacral, Cranio work) is a gentle, light-touch approach that releases tensions in the central nervous system so that every other system in your body can relax and self-correct.
Because it activates the body’s self-healing mechanism, it relieves pain and dysfunction at the source rather than masking the symptoms or giving you a temporary fix.
All you have to do is relax on a nice, comfortable massage table in loose, comfortable clothing. Then I’ll do all the work.
Originating from the osteopathic tradition, this manual therapy enhances the body’s natural healing processes and has proven effective in treating a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction.

What is Myofascial Therapy?
Advanced Myofascial Therapy:
Myofascial therapy is the three-dimensional application of sustained pressure and movement into the fascial system. These techniques require advanced training and a thorough understanding of anatomy and physiology.
First, assessment is made by analyzing the human frame, followed by palpation of the tissue texture of various fascial layers. Upon locating an area of fascial tension, gentle pressure is applied in the direction of the restriction.
Myofascial release is an effective therapeutic approach in the relief of cervical pain, back pain, restriction of motion, chronic pain, and headaches. It helps with chronic muscular pain and injury rehabilitation and reduces inflammation-related pain caused by arthritis and tendinitis

What to expect during a session
You will remain dressed, preferably in loose-fitting, flexible clothing. Much of the work is on the table where you will be invited to relax and get comfortable. Occasionally I will have you sit or stand to do specific techniques.
I may use guided dialog to help you settle in or tune in to your intuition and your body's more subtle messages. I may direct you to move parts of your body to help reset your movement patterns and refine local awareness.

WhaT IS RELAXATION MASSAGE?
I DO NOT OFFER RELAXATION MASSAGE TO NEW CLIENTS AT THIS TIME.
Relaxation Massage: Relaxation Massage, aka Swedish Massage, employes age-old techniques to make you feel good. It is a general treatment that gives equal time to each region of the body: arms & hands, legs & feet, back & belly, neck & head.
What to expect during Relaxation Massage: All work is on the table and a top sheet is used to provide comfort and maintain modesty. I use high quality oil to massage into your skin. Moderate & slow pressure, rocking, jostling and stretching are used to work each region of the body.
Endorphins are released and you will leave in a different state of mind - and your body will feel better too (your emotions and your body are connected, after all)
- If you're looking for deep pressure I recommend you consider Fusion Therapeutic Massage.
